RFP-2, Waves 3 & 4 Update
On May 12, 2020, CESMII released two waves of Smart Manufacturing Roadmap Project Solicitations targeted toward development of core Smart Manufacturing technologies and solutions. Approximately $3.5M of Federal funding is allocated for these efforts.
We are pleased to announce that CESMII has received a total of 28 proposals in response to these RFPs:
  • 8 proposals for RFP2 Wave 3 (Platform capability), and
  • 20 proposals for RFP2 Wave 4 (Innovation projects).
“This is an excellent response to the RFP, indicating a strong interest from our current and future membership to help grow our Smart Manufacturing Innovation Platform’s capabilities and our marketplace.” said CESMII CTO Haresh Malkani.
Selections are expected to be announced in late July for Wave 4 and early August for Wave 3.

Tim Shope of Avid Solutions joined the “Manufacturing Happy Hour” podcast and talked about SM, CESMII and the Future of Systems Integration.

“This is a uniquely insightful and practical perspective on the opportunities and complexities of the digital supply network. The current pandemic, along with the resulting economic chaos will have a profound impact on the global supply chain, highlighting the demand for supply chain resiliency and driving the restructuring of our supply networks. This journey will demand the depth and breadth of DSN insight demonstrated in this book.”
