Pennsylvania State University (PSU) developed a Factory 4.0 learning system for education on manufacturing data science skills with hands on experience using a benchtop extrusion machine that they co-developed with MIT. In this episode we’ll discuss how the course is teaching students to model energy as an input variable that can be modeled along with other output variables, to study tradeoffs between cost, cycle time and quality of the end-product.
