They discussed why there is such a great need for this, some of the joint goals, and what is coming next.
As the United States embarks on a path towards net-zero carbon emissions, understanding how to decarbonize the manufacturing sector will be critical. As part of information gathering for the study’s second report, the National Academies’ Committee on Accelerating Decarbonization in the United States: Technology, Policy, and Societal Dimensions will host a webinar with representatives from DOE’s Advanced Manufacturing Office and several USA Manufacturing Institutes, including John Dyck of CESMII, to explore their roles in accelerating energy and GHG emissions reductions in the industrial sector. The panel discussion aims to provide information to the committee on opportunities, paths, and near-term actions for industrial decarbonization.
