About the Event:

Most AI projects in manufacturing do not stall on the algorithm. They stall on everything around it: terminology that means different things on different lines, data that does not transfer between systems, and no agreed way to show a model is performing as intended.

Those are standards questions. They are the focus of the 2nd AI in Manufacturing Systems Workshop, organized by ASTM Committee F50 on Artificial Intelligence in Manufacturing Systems, on 7 October in Jacksonville, Florida.

The program brings together practitioners and researchers from National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Oak Ridge National Laboratory, CESMII, Siemens Energy, Tesla, and leading universities. Two moderated panels examine where F50 standards must move next and how to scale trustworthy AI from pilot to production. Professor Jay Lee, chair of committee F50, closes the day with an open discussion of the 5C architecture for industrial AI.
