This workshop brings together leaders from manufacturing, automation, and digital systems integration to explore how AI can improve productivity, resilience, and innovation across manufacturing operations and engineering workflows. Discussions will focus on real-world and emerging applications of foundation models, generative AI, and agentic AI; key challenges to adoption such as technical complexity, organizational barriers, and standards gaps; and the measurement science and standards needed to enable reliable, interoperable, and human-centered AI deployment at scale. The event will help identify best practices and support ongoing efforts to advance AI tools, performance metrics, human-AI collaboration, and standards development for advanced manufacturing.
