DESCRIPTION:Conference Introduction\nThe manufacturing faculty at Rutgers University–New Brunswick is pleased to host the International Advanced Manufacturing Conference (NAMRC/MSEC/LEM&P) 2023\, a joint conference of the 51st Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME)’s North American Manufacturing Research Conference (NAMRC51)\, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)’s International Manufacturing Science and Engineering Conference (MSEC 2023)\, and the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME)’s International Conference on Leading Edge Manufacturing/Materials & Processing (LEM&P 2023)\, be held at Rutgers–New Brunswick\, New Jersey\, in June 2023. The last time that NAMRC/MSEC held on the East Coast was in Columbia University in 2005. Rutgers would like to host NAMRC/MSEC/LEM&P 2023 to bring the conference to the East Coast after 18 years. The conference theme will be AI Manufacturing. \n\nRutgers University\nRutgers University–New Brunswick is the flagship home of Rutgers\, the State University of New Jersey. SUMMARY:Webinar Series: Requiem for the Industrial Revolution in the Era of Artificial Intelligence
DESCRIPTION:Part 1 – Our Inheritance: Taylorism & Maintenance Mode \nBrian Evergreen has spent the last several years at Microsoft partnering with FORTUNE 500 C-level executives on artificial intelligence strategy. Evergreen has written a new book (Autonomous Transformation: Creating a More Human Future in the Era of Artificial Intelligence)\, releasing this summer\, which claims that the only way the economic potential of artificial intelligence will be harnessed by organizations (as opposed to the current success rate for data science projects that is only 13%) is by creating more human organizations focused on creating a more human future\, rehumanizing work and cutting ties with and breaking out of the local minutiae of the industrial revolution into a new era. \nThis would mean leaders transition from leading and managing organizations as if they were machines (from a mechanistic worldview) to leading and managing them as social systems.
