SUMMARY:Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS)
DESCRIPTION:The Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS) is the world’s first cross-industrial and crossfunctional platform that offers a voice and venue for leaders to transform manufacturing and utilise technology as a tool for global cooperation and collaboration to encourage greater investment in capabilities\, foster innovation and drive global skills development. Co-chaired by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and the United Arab Emirates\, GMIS unites influential delegates from the global manufacturing and technology communities\, including leaders from governments\, expert industry CEOs and specialist researchers and academics to discuss\, debate and shape the future of the manufacturing sector and place manufacturing at the heart of economic regeneration and government policymaking. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Panelist\n \n \n \n \n \n John Dyck\, CEO\, CESMII \nSession: Innovation in disruption: The IIoT paradigmAs many organisations continue to grapple with implementing IoT for asset maintenance and tracking\, pioneers in the manufacturing industry and solution providers are implementing IoT to create disruptive business models. \nThe commercialisation of IoT and the widespread adoption of IIoT is enabling companies to develop business models that simultaneously improve the customer experience\, enable efficiency and enhance sustainability. IoT is driving the ‘as-a-service’ revolution – service providers are realising the benefits of subscription service models using products and machines that have built in sensors\, so that the owner can track the life of the product and conduct repairs and maintenance when necessary\, allowing the manufacturer to focus on optimising efficiency of supply chains and implement differentiators such as personalisation. \nThis session will discuss how data derived from IIoT and edge sensor technology can be leveraged to create disruptive business models that enable circularity.
