A Virtual Workshop to be Hosted by Oak Ridge National Laboratory
Please plan to participate in Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s workshop on the Future of the Digital Thread in U.S. Manufacturing.
The virtual workshop will be hosted by the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory on July 29–30, 2021.
The following topics will be highlighted as part of the workshop:
1. Digital manufacturing architecture and infrastructure design and execution
2. Grassroots models for initiation and growth of the digital thread for small and medium-sized enterprises
3. Introduce the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility’s current state of digital manufacturing technology
4. Collaborative research opportunities in digital manufacturing
The workshop begins at 9:00 am on July 29 with a review of the current status of the digital thread in manufacturing systems from leading experts in the field. These updates will be followed by a virtual tour of the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility providing insight into currently available capabilities. Breakout sessions will be used to identify critical needs for technology readiness level 1–6 work necessary to advance the state-of-the-art for the digital thread in manufacturing. The workshop will end at 4:30 pm on July 30 with the development of potential directions for research to address the identified needs.
There is no cost to participate in the workshop.
