Chief Financial Officer
Cory Smith joined UCLA in December 2017 as the Chief Financial Officer of the Office of Information Technology (OIT). Through OIT, Cory is responsible for financial oversight, planning, accounting and management of the Clean Energy Manufacturing Innovation Institute.
Cory brings over 20 years of Finance, Operations and Information Technology leadership experience to UCLA and CESMII. Cory most recently was the Chief Financial Officer of a medical device company, O2 Concepts, where he raised private equity and secured debt financing to fund new product development and operations. Prior to that, he held multiple Finance, Information Technology and Operations management roles at a medical device company, Endologix, Inc, as it grew from $7M to $200M in global sales over 10 years through organic growth and acquisitions. Achievements include financial and information technology diligence and post-deal integration of two corporate acquisitions totaling $220M, leading the global implementation of ERP, CRM, document management and quality control systems, and promoting business intelligence tools to drive sales, operations and financial decisions making.
Cory holds an MBA from UC Irvine and a B.S. in Finance from Fordham University.
