CESMII Strengthens its Regional Manufacturing Center (RMC) Network.
CESMII Network now includes three RMC and additional satellite locations.
Los Angeles, CA - Effective May 15th CESMII has streamlined its Regional Manufacturing Centers (RMC) to three locations to focus resources on achieving a more accessible and stronger U.S. capability network. The restructuring of the regional centers from five to three regions – Southern, Northern, and Western – along with the creation of satellite centers, will strengthen CESMII’s outreach capabilities. The broad member network of industrial manufacturing expertise can be better leveraged through the use of focused CESMII resources based at the RMCs and satellites at these strategic geographic locations.
“We are very pleased with the rapid establishment of each RMC’s operations and their engagement with the industrial, academic and government entities within their region. That engagement has allowed us to champion the mission and voice of CESMII, drive membership and to successfully solicit our first set of funded projects,” said Jim Wetzel, Interim CEO of CESMII. The success of the Regional Manufacturing Centers has rapidly increased CESMII’s footprint and visibility across the U.S.A.”
Effective May 15, 2018, the previous California RMC will expand and become the Western Region Manufacturing Center and will have a satellite location in the Pacific Northwest. The host for this satellite office will be announced shortly after terms are completed. The Western Region Manufacturing Center (WRMC) and those expanded set of satellites will be led by UCLA. The Gulf Coast Region will expand and become the Southern Region Manufacturing Center (SRMC), having its satellite located at North Carolina State University. The Southern Region Manufacturing Center will be led out of Texas A & M University. There are no changes to the Northeast RMC other than a name change to the Northern Region Manufacturing Center. The NRMC is led out of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. CESMII will also be establishing additional satellite location(s), in the near future, within Regions that are not currently represented by our uniquely skilled distributed network. These satellite offices will be coordinated with their parent RMC to ensure that all CESMII members have continued access to CESMII membership benefits, resources and services across the Unites States. In this manner, CESMII and its members will capitalize on the smart manufacturing capabilities and ability to drive their businesses forward no matter their location..
